About the Show

 

 

Waikiki Dinner Party is a two-hour weekly radio program broadcast on select Public Radio stations across the United States. Hosted by veteran Honolulu broadcaster Mahlon Moore, it blends a variety of music from all eras with the classic music of Hawaii.

 

Core artists include Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, Basia, Martin Denny, Dave Brubeck, Al Green - along with The Brothers Cazimero, Alfred Apaka, Amy Hanaiali'i, and Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. The songs are all compatible with the good feelings and familiarity you would find at a relaxed dinner party.

 

We don't talk much - it's all about the music. When we do talk, we like to toss in some song trivia and bring back a few memories - especially about Hawaii.

 

Listeners are encouraged to send requests that are incorporated into broadcasts.
